The Red Box was launched by Minister for Culture, Community and Youth, Ms Grace Fu today! It will be a rallying point for youths to gather, exchange ideas and take action towards building a caring and cohesive society. Following the launch, we also had 1,000 young volunteers taking part in our newly launched signature initiative, Common Space for Common Good. These youths made waves as they served the community wholeheartedly. Well done to all our volunteers who have impacted so many lives today!
Our founding Prime Minister Mr Lee Kuan Yew owned a Red Box that he filled with ideas to make Singapore a better place. Over the weekend, Minister Grace Fu launched Youth Corps Singapore’s new home, a striking red building off Somerset named “The Red Box” in honour of Mr Lee. We hope that it will also be full of ideas to make Singapore a better place! After the launch, more than 1,000 youth volunteers took part in the very first “Common Space for Common Good” event, serving close to 600 beneficiaries at 9 different sites across Singapore. It warms our hearts to see our youths wake up early on a Saturday morning to give back to the community!
